  • Painting Without Paint

    1Get down and dirty.
Earth colors, then and now, are made from just that.
    2) Dig through the ashes.
A half-burned stick plucked from an old campfire can stand in for charcoal—that's what it is, after all—or for a pencil, if you've forgotten to bring one.
    3) Use an edible eraser.
    4) Make your own paint.
  • Digital artists go through many of the same processes that artists of traditional mediums experience.
It requires creativity and a heightened level of practice.
Digital art is like any other form of art.
The only difference is that it is created with digital tools.
  • If you believe strongly that you want to become better at digital art, then you should go ahead and get used to drawing with a pen tablet.
On the other hand, if you're interested in character posing, then figure sketching with pencil and paper will help improve your overall drawing skills.
  • It absolutely is not too late.
I used to work in a big art store and saw people in their 60's begin to learn drawing.
  • It can help you to communicate form in an efficient manner.” History of line art.
Many great artists over the centuries have experimented with their own styles of line art.
  • Line art emphasizes form and drawings, of several (few) constant widths (as in technical illustrations), or of freely varying widths (as in brush work or engraving).
Line art may tend towards realism (as in much of Gustave Doré's work), or it may be a caricature, cartoon, ideograph, or glyph.
  • Line in art is a primitive but powerful form of artistic expression.
It's a dynamic technique that captivates viewers and creates impact regardless of the format or media type—making it foundational to all great design.
Whether you create analog or digital line art, the impact of the art form is unmistakable.

  • Of course There isn't a rule out there to say you have to be good at art on paper before you go to digital art.
I am not as good on paper as I am digitally.
I do have a sketch book and brush pens that I use if I am no where near my laptop but almost all of my art is digital.
  • Yet they take a minimum of 1000 hours of practice before they can master digital art.
The main things that come in your way are your natural abilities to draw and your dedication level to the field.

Introduction

Lineless art can seem daunting if you’re unfamiliar with it. With no lineart, it’s hard to keep your colors cleanly separated and visually distinct enough to make sense to the viewer. So in this tutorial, I’ll be using Clip Studio Paint to share some tips I’ve learned to better define your lineless art and make it stand out.

Lines

Despite the name, lineless art isn't entirely devoid of lines! It doesn’t have distinctive lineart, but lines can be incorporated into the drawing to really make it stand out. For the lines, I’ll create a layer at the top of the folder (above all of the color and shadow layers, but below the corrections layer.) This will be easier than changing lay.

Shading

Shading is another great way to make your lineless art stand out. This won’t be a full shading tutorial, but I’ll go over some shading basics, and some tips on areas to shade that will really help separate shapes in your lineless character art. The first step is to establish a light source. This will dictate where the shading and highlights will go.

Sketching and Color Blocking

Lineless starts with a sketch just like any other art. Just sketch as you normally would! Use your favorite brush and draw something you'll have fun working on. I'll be drawing a character I've created by the name of Reese. I use two sketch layers: one for construction, and a second for detail. There's no limit to how many sketch layers you can use.

Texture

I wanted to at least mention texture before wrapping up! It's by no means necessary to incorporate, but it can help polish and define your lineless art if you choose to include it. For this tutorial, I've been using a rough-edged brush that comes preset in CSP. What i've been drawing has one constant texture, but using different textured brushes fo.

Value

In art, value is how light or dark a color is. Value is important in all works of art, but especially so in lineless art, where your values are a key factor in distinguishing your shapes from one another. When the values of your colors are too close together, they may appear very similar to the eye, and look monotonous. If your colors are seeming t.

Is it easier to draw without a lineart?

In my personal experience, works without lineart are much easier to do than ones with lineart. when you draw without lineart is you skip the lineart stage (which is tedious and takes a long ass time) and you jump strength into color. This means you have more momentum.

Is lineart lineart?

Lineart is lineart, whether it's done in pencil or ink, clean or messy. You drew lines instead of solid shapes? Boom, lineart. Your sketches are probably already lined, they're just not up to whatever arbitrary standards you've heard/set for what lineart "should" be. I sketch and line in fine-point mechanical pencil.

Why do I finish art faster if I don't use lineart?

You also finish artworks faster because you skip the lineart step (which can take hours). I've noticed a considerable increase in speed after i gave up on lineart. Drawing without lineart gives you a sense of freedom, you're not confined to the lineart. Editing things, even as the wrtwork is almost finished, is very easy.
