The use of liquid crystal displays is very popular and common in the 8051 project. We recommend learning LCD interfacing at the startAs it can be very helpful later on. Because when you learn to interface sensors with 8051

To instruct LCD interfacing with the 8051 microcontroller to perform a specific task

for this the steps are as follows:

LCD can be interfaced with microcontroller in 4 Bit or 8 Bit mode. These differs in how data is send to LCD. In 8 bit mode to write a character
8 bit ASCII data is send through the data lines D0 – D7 and data strobe is given through E of the LCD. LCD commands which are also 8 bit are written to LCD in similar way.

High logic at the RS pin will select the data register and Low logic at the RS pin will select the command register. If we make the RS pin high and the put a data in the 8 bit data line (DB0 to DB7)
The LCD module will recognize it as a data to be displayed .
