What is auditing like reddit

I like the concept of auditing

Making sure people are doing what they're supposed to be doing, what the practices are, why they're the best practices (the risks) are all nice things

Seeing how different clients do different things is pretty nice too

IT Audit is going to clients and assess whether their accounting applications are secure enough to prevent alterations that could lead to fraud

By doing so, we confirm extracts from this application are corrects and can be used later by our "regular" auditors

In college they give you such an distorted view of what audit was

I thought it was all about catching fraud, and really helping a company

But luckily I know what the job entails before I start

When I was in audit I liked the summers because you didn't do anything and your schedule was very flexible
