    Saint Dominic's.

  • Van Morrison 1970s songs

    Tupelo Honey.

  • Van Morrison albums ranked

    Moondance.

As freewheeling as Moondance was polished, His Band and the Street Choir was a potpourri of loose and brassy R&B sounds. The album premiered several compositions that had first been mooted for both Astral Weeks and Moondance but wouldn't have fit snugly onto either album.
Criticism of the album centres on the relative simplicity of the lyrics compared to its predecessors, though the relaxed style garners praise, and indeed gives His Band And The Street Choir it's lovely feel. Favourite amongst the gems is I've Been Working, which I knew from a cover version by Bo Diddley.

Is Van Morrison's band & The Street Choir a good album?

As an album, His Band & the Street Choir may not equal Astral Weeks or Moondance, but the aim was never that lofty

That most of these songs have endured as fan favorites is testament enough to their quality
