High School Internships
Interns have the opportunity to engage with professionals in bioethics, public health, healthcare, the biotech/pharmaceutical industries, patient advocacy, law, and other areas, and develop potential mentor relationships that can continue beyond the internship.
How to start a career in bioethics?
They must either go for MBBS, which is four-year long course and certifies the student as a medical doctor or can take up a Bachelors course in nursing. Certificate Programs and Post Graduate diploma programs with a focus on bioethics will help the students to kick start their career in the field of bioethics.
What does a bioethics intern do?
Interns collaborate on ongoing projects with faculty and participate in division activities in research ethics, sports ethics, transplant ethics, allocation of medical resources, and clinical ethics. Interns for the High School Bioethics Project participate in a two-week immersive, introductory bioethics program.
What internships does the division of medical ethics offer?
Each year, the Division of Medical Ethics offers two paid internships for undergraduate scholars with backgrounds historically underrepresented in bioethics, providing them an immersive and highly educational experience in the field. We hire two undergraduate interns to work with us during the fall and spring academic semesters.
What is the High School Bioethics Project?
The High School Bioethics Project is supported by a grant from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund.
