    Allocation criteria – The GCF's allocation framework aims for a 50:50 balance between mitigation and adaptation investments over time in grant equivalent terms.
    Additionally, it intends to reserve 50% of the adaptation allocation to particularly vulnerable countries, including LDCs, SIDS, and African States.

  • What is the governance structure of the Green Climate Fund?

    The GCF Board is charged with the governance and oversight of the Fund's management.
    It was established by 194 sovereign governments party to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
    The Board is independent and guided by the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the Convention.

  • Who is the head of policy and strategy GCF?

    Selina Wrighter, Head of policy and strategy
    Selina joined the GCF in August 2017 and has headed strategic planning through two GCF programming cycles, also covering implementation of strategy through annual work planning, institutional capability assessments and policy development.

  • GCF has a portfolio of USD 13.5 billion (USD 51.9 billion including co-financing) delivering transformative climate action in more than 120 countries.
    It also has a readiness support programme that builds capacity and helps countries develop long-term plans to fight climate change.
