Do Australian places have official names?
Australian places have official names derived from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages. Some places have official dual names from those languages and English. When writing official dual names, use a spaced forward slash to separate the 2 parts of the name.
Does Australia have a postcode?
Australia has three inhabited external territories. They do not use their own name and abbreviation in Australia Post’s postcode system and are instead assigned the name of another state. Australian postcodes are four-digit codes that are used to help sort and route mail.

Guidelines for machine printing addresses
Generally, the MLOCR can read most typed and printed upper and lower case letters and numerals, provided that the type is clear and sharp and the characters do not touch or overlap. Australia Post prefers upper case printing to be used. Black print is preferred, however dark colours are acceptable. All lines of the address must be left justified.

An organisation or company may allocate a reference number to identify a particular addressee or subject matter. This information is usually depicted in alpha or numeric format, or a mixture of both.
