According to another Albert.io article, more than 20,000 students take the AP® French Language exam and out of those about 75% get a score of 3 or higher. In general, about 38% get a crucial score of a 4 or 5, and overall only 12% score a 5.
The AP French Language and Culture class culminates in an exam to test students' proficiency. The exam is approximately 3 hours in length with a 95-minute multiple choice section and an 85-minute free response section.
Is the AP French exam curved?
The scores on AP® exams are curved every year by the College Board to preserve consistency and standardize student performance. Courses are essentially college-level subjects; AP® French Language is no exception to this rule. The scoring guidelines emulate the austerity of similar college courses.
Is the AP French exam hard?
The French AP exam is notoriously difficult, with a passing rate of only about 50%. The exam consists of four sections: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The listening and reading sections are multiple choice, while the writing and speaking sections are free response.
