By the time your child is in elementary school, it's likely that 9/11 will have been discussed in class.
If you haven't discussed 9/11 much with your child so far, it might make sense to start the discussion by simply asking them what they know about the events of that day, says Dr.
Kahn.
September 11th will remain a day that shaped the course of the nation's — and the world's — history.
Students in high school and middle school who were not yet born on September 11, 2001, have still grown up in a cultural and political environment that owes much to the actions of the United States in response to 9/11.10 sept. 2023
“9/11” is shorthand for a date, September 11, 2001.
On that date, a group of nineteen men crashed two airplanes into the Twin Towers and one into the Pentagon outside of Washington DC.
Many of these lessons relate to preparation—to establishing plans and mechanisms for emergency action.
But if 9/11 taught us anything, it's that we can't anticipate every contingency.
Sometimes, we have no choice but to improvise.
Here, too, the experiences I uncovered can serve as useful models.
