“IMRaD” format refers to a paper that is structured by four main sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion.
This format is often used for lab reports as well as for reporting any planned, systematic research in the social sciences, natural sciences, or engineering and computer sciences.
Use clear, unbiased, and straightforward language.
DO NOT include tables, images, or figures.
Note: Abstracts should not include an abundance of background information or theory, only a summary of the basics.
You should also avoid referring to other literature, unless absolutely necessary.
Abstracts should be no more than 250 words, formatted in Microsoft Word, and single-spaced, using size 12 Times New Roman font.
Abstracts highlight major points of your research and explain why your work is important; what your purpose was, how you went about your project, what you learned, and what you concluded.
