What is the Global Water Partnership (GWP)?
The Global Water Partnership ( GWP) is a multi-stakeholder platform and an action network established as an intergovernmental organization to support countries in their efforts to implement a more equitable and sustainable management of their water resources.
Why is water quality important in Germany?
Quality is just as important as affordability, reliability and sustainability. Additionally, the German water industry is a world leader in research and development of future-oriented solutions, materials, technologies and products. The goal: sustainable use of water and water management that conserves the world’s resources.
How did Germany develop a joint innovation platform for water?
Against this background, in 2007 and 2008, the German government worked together with dedicated representatives of the German water sector and water researchers to develop key points for the creation of a joint innovation platform for water with the involvement of busi-ness, policy-makers and the scientific community.
What is German Water Partnership?
German Water Partnership e.V. is the only network in the German water sector with an international focus and unites over 300 companies, trade associations and institutions from business, science and research. Around 1.8 billion people live in regions with water stress, 2.3 billion have no access to sanitation.
