Introduction The red palm weevil (RPW), Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Olivier), is a highly destructive pest that affects palm species worldwide [ 1 ]. The RPW threatens many types of palm trees, including coconut, sugar, oil, sago, palmyra, royal, Washingtonian, and date palms [ 2 ].
