What is RAN architecture?
Today, RAN architecture divides the user plane and the control plane into separate elements.
The RAN controller can exchange one set of user data messages through a software-defined networking switch and a second set through a control-based interface.The Radio Access Network (RAN) serves as a critical component in a 5G network, connecting user devices to the core network.
My experience highlights the pivotal role of RAN in delivering high-speed, low-latency connectivity, crucial for applications like augmented reality and IoT.
What is the difference between 5G and RAN?
5G is about connecting things everywhere while enabling new use cases.
A 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) relies on a fully coordinated, multi-layer network with low-band, mid-band and high-band to provide wireless connectivity to devices and deliver the best network performance.
What is the difference between core and RAN?
The core network is typically composed of several interconnected network elements, such as switches, routers, gateways, and servers.
Finally, the radio access network (RAN) is a specific type of access network that provides wireless connectivity between end-user devices and the core network.
