We hypothesize that different types of family accommodation each embody differences in the level of psychosocial support, financial stress, and opportunity for respite from the hospital environment during a child’s hospitalization, and therefore have a measurable impact on patient and family hospitalization experience.

A landmark study published in 2006 by the Harvard Medical School highlighted the interconnectedness of people's health in that the health of one person influences the health of another.
