The History of Fashion II will introduce the student to a century of fashion history drawing parallels between the fashion and the period that it existed |
One of the most influential of the era was Christian Dior's “New Look” collection that brought an air of elegance back to women's fashion.
If you're putting a look together, be aware that style of the 1940s was very distinct between the war and post-war eras.
What is a fashion history?
History of fashion design refers specifically to the development of the purpose and intention behind garments, shoes, accessories, and their design and construction.
What happened in fashion during WWII?
Working women traded in their high-heeled shoes and silk pants for khaki jackets and blue jeans.
They also began wearing wraparound dresses with fewer adornments and pinned their hair back to avoid getting it caught in the machinery.
