PDF USER MANUAL

• Only use electrodes supplied by Compex Other electrodes may have electrical properties that are unsuitable for the Compex Wireless unit Caution should always be exercised with current densities greater than 2mA/cm2 • Always turn off the stimulator before moving or removing any electrode during a session

  • How do I learn more about Compex electrodes?

If you would like to learn more about Compex Electrodes, including how to get longer usage out of them, as well as other products that can help you to get more effective and efficient sessions from your muscle stimulator, then take a look at our Guide to Compex Electrodes page. Need new electrodes? Visit our Electrodes section to refresh yours now.

  • What is a composite electrode?

    1. INTRODUCTION The term "composite electrode" is used here to describe an agglomeration of small grains of an insertion electrode material bound together by another phase, usually but not necessarily a soft solid electrolyte, and may therefore be applied to all situations where an insertion electrode is used in polycrystalline form.

  • How does the compression ratio affect the wettability of the electrode?

The results show that wettability in the electrode decreases as the compression ratio increases. In a highly compressed electrode, the through-plane permeation of liquid electrolyte is small. Thus, the electrolytes are mainly observed at the interface of the electrode and separator.

  • Can Compex® sport be used on injured or ailing muscles?

The “Compex® Sport” is not intended to be used in conjunction with therapy or treatment of medical diseases or medical conditions of any kind. None of the “Compex® Sport” training programs is designed for injured or ailing muscles and its use on such muscles is contraindicated.

  • How An Electronic Stimulator Works

Neuromuscular stimulationsimply uses electrical current from a device and transmits it through a wire to a select muscle. The electrical current activates the muscle’s action potential, thus creating a muscular contraction. This contraction is not the same as a volitional contraction from training, but some benefits exist to using it in conjunction...

  • Device Settings, Electrodes, and Waveform Protocols

One area that can frustrate even the experienced physical therapist or physiotherapist is the marketing hype behind therapeutic currents and how they affect patient outcomes. Very little effect, if any, occurs if EMS is used in isolation. Additionally, some research shows that combined treatments are also very limited in effectively changing functi...

  • Advances in Wireless Technology and Design

The most noticeable changes to the EMS market in recent years are the wireless models and the rise of smartphone-guided options. The primary reason for the popularity of wireless is because it allows for freedom of movement by having electrodes and current directly on the body without wires from a device. The new EMS devices are not fully wireless,...

What are the replacement electrodes for my Compex?

Does the compression ratio of a porous electrode affect wettability?

The effect of the compression ratio of a porous electrode on wettability is explored with respect to variations of porosity and particle shape. The electrolyte distribution in the electrode and the electrolyte saturation profile are examined in order to evaluate the wetting capability at various compression ratios.
