When should I stop taking Lo/ovral-28?
Stop taking LO/OVRAL-28 at least 4 weeks before you have major surgery and do not restart after the surgery without asking your healthcare provider. Be sure to use other forms of contraception (like condoms or spermicide) during this time period. Decide what time of day you want to take your pill.
Can I miss a period if I have not taken Lo/ovral-28?
It is not uncommon to miss a period. However, if you miss a period and have not taken LO/OVRAL-28 according to directions, or miss 2 periods in a row, or feel like you may be pregnant, call your healthcare provider. If you have a positive pregnancy test, you should stop taking LO/OVRAL-28.
Can Ovral L be used after menopause?
Ovral L Tablet is only intended for use after menarche (the first occurrence of menstruation). It is not intended for use after menopause (the end of menstrual cycles in women). Inform your doctor about the use of Ovral L Tablet before undergoing a surgery. The use of this medicine in such cases may increase your risk of developing blood clots.
How does Ovral L work?
Ovral L Tablet is a combined oral contraceptive pill. It works by preventing the release of egg (ovulation) and affecting sperm movement in the womb to prevent its union with the egg. It also changes the lining of the womb and renders it unsuitable for pregnancy. Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Ovral L Tablet.
