Comment reconnaître un amide ?
Amides primaires – ils sont caractérisés par un atome d'hydrogène de la molécule NH ₃ remplacé par un groupe acyle.
Un exemple d'un tel amide est l'acétamide (éthanamide).
Amides secondaires – avec deux groupes acyle dans leurs molécules.
Les amides secondaires sont communément appelés imides.
Les polyamides sont des composés contenant des groupes amides.
Certains sont synthétiques, comme le nylon, mais on les trouve également dans la nature, dans des protéines, formées à partir d'acides aminés, en faisant réagir un groupe carboxyle d'un acide aminé avec un groupe amino de l'autre.
