What is the known consignor security program?
The Known Consignor (KC) scheme regulates business to clear air cargo where it is not suitable or practicable to be examined by a Regulated Air Cargo Agent.
The KC scheme is regulated under the Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005.
The KC scheme is suitable for businesses that: transport their goods by air.
Who can validate a known consignor?

The FOCA alone decides on the certification and issues the certificate.
During the 5-year validity of the certificate as "Known Consignor", an interim on-site inspection is carried out in the 2nd or 3rd year.
What is a known consignor approval?
Known Consignor requirements
Known Consignors must demonstrate that they have security measures and procedures in place and can secure their export air cargo from point of origin until it is handed to another regulated business.
Known consignors send air cargo or airmail in their own name and for their own account, and have to comply with the relevant security regulations and standards.
All items of cargo and all mail consignments are subjected to security checks before they are loaded onto the aircraft.

The checklist is the instrument to be used by the EU aviation security validator for assessing the level of security applied to EU or EEA bound air cargo or air Autres questions
