The fast Fourier transform (FFT) is an important tool in the fields of image and signal processing.
The hexagonal fast Fourier transform (HFFT) uses existing FFT routines to compute the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) of images that have been captured with hexagonal sampling.
What is the difference between FFT and FFT Shift?
fft computes the discrete Fourier transform and by definition the output is complex. fftshift doesn't compute anything except swaping the position of the samples, so if your input is real, you get real output.20 avr. 2017
What is Fftshift used for?
fftshift (MATLAB Functions) Y = fftshift(X) rearranges the outputs of fft , fft2 , and fftn by moving the zero-frequency component to the center of the array.
It is useful for visualizing a Fourier transform with the zero-frequency component in the middle of the spectrum.
Why use Fftshift before FFT?
It is well known that the results of MATLAB's fft() function must be re-ordered with the MATLAB function fftshift() so that they are 'naturally' ordered (for instance when plotting).
