How science works

Should science be considered a science?
If something doesn’t meet most of these characteristics, it shouldn’t be treated as science. Science studies the natural world. This in-cludes the components of the physical universe around us like atoms, plants, eco-systems, people, societies and galaxies, as well as the natural forces at work on those things.
Can a question be resolved by science?
However, questions that arise within these domains generally cannot be resolved by science, although they can be informed by science. Can science help you answer supernatural questions?
These questions may be important, but science won’t help you answer them. Questions that deal with supernatural explanations are, by definition, beyond the realm of nature — and hence, also beyond the realm of what can be studied by science. For many, such questions are matters of personal faith and spirituality.
What if science was like Hamburger Helper®?
That might work if science were like Hamburger Helper®, but science is complex and cannot be reduced to a single, prepackaged recipe. The linear, stepwise representation of the process of science is oversimplified, but it does get at least one thing right. It captures the core logic of science: testing ideas with evidence.
