Environmental microbiology is the scientific study of microorganisms in the environment.
This discipline includes air microbiology, soil microbiology and water microbiology.Applied and Environmental Microbiology (AEM) publishes descriptions of all aspects of applied microbial research, basic research on microbial ecology, and research of a genetic and molecular nature that focuses on microbial topics of practical value.
