eu regulatory framework
What is the regulatory framework?
Regulatory frameworks are legal mechanisms that exist on national and international levels.
They can be mandatory and coercive (national laws and regulations, contractual obligations) or voluntary (integrity pacts, codes of conduct, arms control agreements). What are the regulatory bodies of the EU?
The primary regulatory bodies in the European Union (EU) are the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, and the European Commission.
Regulations are legal acts defined by Article 288 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU).
They have general application, are binding in their entirety and are directly applicable in all European Union (EU) Member States.
What is the EU legal framework?
The European Union is based on the rule of law.
This means that every action taken by the EU is founded on treaties that have been approved democratically by its members.
EU laws help to achieve the objectives of the EU treaties and put EU policies into practice.
