We recommend you to always print your reservation e-tickets to avoid any inconveniences.
Paper ticket reservations need to be brought with you on your Interrail trip, so you can show them on the train.

What happens if you don't reserve a seat in Eurail?

It's good to remember that most European trains don't need a reservation at all.
You can keep the costs of your trip down by traveling with regional trains, which will take you to every corner of Europe.
Regional trains are a good alternative for fully booked high-speed and night trains.

How far in advance should I reserve Eurail seats?

We advise you to start making reservations at least 2 months in advance.
Many high-speed and night trains can already be reserved from 3 months in advance, and will get fully booked in that period.

Why can't I book seats on train?

Non reservable train
Some carriers don't provide seat reservations on all or some of their trains.
This is common on regional trains, shorter routes and during peak travel times on commuter routes.
On these trains you can sit in any vacant seat in the class your ticket is booked for.
