What is the minimum liquidity for a UCITS?
Liquidity A UCITS must be able to offer redemptions at least twice a month, i.e. fortnightly.
A 10% fund level gate is permitted.
Redemption proceeds to be received within 14 calendar days/10 business days of the redemption deadline.When liquidity is measured through the bucketing approach, the amount of liquid assets is compared with stressed outflows through a redemption coverage ratio (RCR).
If RCR > 1 then the fund is resilient, since it has enough liquid assets to cover the redemption shock.
How to do liquidity stress testing?
Liquidity stress testing must:
1Include multiple scenarios.2) Be forward looking.
3) Be performed under different time horizons (e.g., overnight, 30-day, 90-day, and one-year time horizons)4Use results to determine the liquidity buffer.
5) Incorporate the conclusions in the contingency funding plan.
