This Directorate-General is to advance the removal of trade barriers, to encourage the harmonious development of world trade and to lower custom barriers.
The Directorate General has to implement the common trade policy of the EU towards non-member states.What is an EU DG?
The Commission is organised into policy departments, known as Directorates-General (DGs), which are responsible for different policy areas.
DGs develop, implement and manage EU policy, law, and funding programmes.The EU Commission is composed of 33 Directorate Generals.
