Le liant ou la résine permet de lier intimement les charges avec les pigments.
Ces différentes matières premières donnent ainsi la véritable structure de fond de la peinture.Ses composants principaux sont un liant (ou « véhicule »), un diluant (ou « solvant »), des pigments (ou « charges »), des adjuvants et additifs divers.
En résumé, une peinture peut être définie comme un composé de divers éléments cohésifs à l'état liquide que l'on applique sur un support.

4.3. WATERBORNE SYSTEMS
