What is the highest court in the US?
The Supreme Court of the United States is the highest court in the land and the only part of the federal judiciary specifically required by the Constitution.
The Constitution does not stipulate the number of Supreme Court Justices; the number is set instead by Congress.How many federal districts are there in the US?
There are 89 districts in the 50 states, which are listed with their divisions in Title 28 of the U.S.
Code, Sections 81-144.
District courts also exist in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the District of Columbia, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
In total there are 94 U.S. district courts.The U.S.
Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit hears appeals from the district courts in the states of Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
There are nine federal district courts located within the Fourth Circuit.
