What is a Journal Citation indicator?
found in InCites. The value of the Journal Citation Indicator is the mean CNCI for all articles and reviews published in a journal in the preceding three years. The Journal Citation Indicator (JCI), a field-normalized metric, represents the average category-normalized citation impact for papers published in the prior three-year period.
What is a journal impact factor?
The JCR was created as a way to use cited references "as characteristics of the journals they linked" (Garfield, 1975). The Journal Impact FactorTM (JIF) was designed to summarize performance, combining citations across all content to create a generalized, journal-level metric showing a specific type of scholarly use in a single year.
When is impact factor information released?
