How is applied voltage test performed in a resonant circuit?
Dur-ing the applied voltage test, the transformer winding reacts as a simple capacitive load. Therefore, the applied voltage test can be performed by using a resonant circuit. An oscillating circuit is formed between the test object as a capacitive load and a reactor with fixed inductance.

How do variable frequency resonant systems work?
Variable Frequency (VF) resonant systems use a special single winding transformer with a fixed inductance called an HV reactor powered by single phase, L-N, step-up transformer called the Excitation Transformer. Many RTS will function both as an onsite or lab type system.
How do you test a transformer?
The test voltage is regulated by the inverter output voltage and measured by a calibrated measur-ing system consisting of a peak voltmeter and voltage measur-ing divider (4). High transient voltages can be generated in the HV circuit, in case of a failure in the transformer to be tested.
