INTR pin(Pin number 18) in Intel 8086 microprocessor is for Interrupt.
It is an interrupt request signal, which is sampled during the last clock cycle of each instruction to determine if the processor considered this as an interrupt or not.
What is microprocessor and interface?
Interface is the path for communication between two components.
Interfacing is of two. types, memory interfacing and I/O interfacing.
Memory Interfacing.
When we are executing any instruction, we need the microprocessor to access the memory for reading instruction codes and the data stored in the memory.
What is the interrupt flag in 8086?
If interrupt flag is set (1), the microprocessor will recognize interrupt requests from the peripherals.
If interrupt flag is reset (0), the microprocessor will not recognize any interrupt requests and will ignore them.
Trap Flag (T) – This flag is used for on-chip debugging.
