  • Quelles sont les roches carbonatées ?

    Les 2 principales roches carbonatées sont : - le calcaire constitué de CaCO3 (calcite), - la dolomie formée de CaMg(CO3)2 (dolomite).

  • Quels sont les minerais carbonates ?

    En minéralogie, les carbonates sont des minéraux dont la composition chimique est celle d'un carbonate : aragonite et calcite CaCO3, dolomite CaMg(CO3)2, etc.

  • Le carbonate de calcium fait partie des minéraux les plus abondants sur Terre et représente environ 4 % de la croûte terrestre.
    Il est présent naturellement dans trois principaux types de roches : la craie, le calcaire et le marbre.

  • Comment se forment les carbonates ?

    Leur origine : certains carbonates se forment à partir de processus biologiques, appelés carbonates biogéniques, tandis que d'autres résultent de processus non biologiques comme la précipitation chimique des minéraux à partir de l'eau.

  • Les carbonates sont dispersés ou organisés en nodules et pédotubules centimétriques. Ces dépôts sont caractérisés par la présence de lentilles conglomératiques à galets et graviers calcaires.
