  • How to determine the number of clusters without relying on a target variable?

    We need a method that informs us about the number of clusters without relying on a target variable. One possible solution in determining the correct number of clusters is a brute-force approach. We try applying a clustering algorithm with different numbers of clusters.

  • What is a cluster size?

    Cluster size represents the smallest amount of disk space that can be used to hold a file. When file sizes do not come out to an even multiple of the cluster size, additional space must be used to hold the file (up to the next multiple of the cluster size).

  • What is the optimal number of clusters based on Silhouette score?

    # k is range of number of clusters. The optimal number of clusters based on Silhouette Score is 4. The Calinski-Harabasz Index is based on the idea that clusters that are (1) themselves very compact and (2) well-spaced from each other are good clusters.

  • What is the optimal number of clusters?

    According to this observation k = 2 is the optimal number of clusters in the data. Another visualization that can help determine the optimal number of clusters is called the a silhouette method. Average silhouette method computes the average silhouette of observations for different values of k.
