What are some real life examples of the Fourier series?
The Fourier series can be used to remove unwanted noise from a signal.
This is known as noise reduction or noise cancellation.
For example, active noise cancellation headphones use the Fourier series to remove unwanted background noise from an audio signal. What can you do with Fourier series?
Fourier series is used to describe a periodic signal in terms of cosine and sine waves.
In other other words, it allows us to model any arbitrary periodic signal with a combination of sines and cosines.Fourier Series are used in the resolution of Partial Differential Equations, which appears in many Mechanical Engineering problems such as Heat Diffusion, Wave Propagation and Fluid Mechanics problems.
What are the applications of Fourier series?
The Fourier series has many such applications in electrical engineering, vibration analysis, acoustics, optics, signal processing, image processing, quantum mechanics, econometrics, shell theory, etc.
