What is Dworkin's theory?
Dworkin's theory is "interpretive": the law is whatever follows from a constructive interpretation of the institutional history of the legal system. Dworkin argues that moral principles that people hold dear are often wrong, even to the extent that certain crimes are acceptable if one's principles are skewed enough.
How did professor Dworkin die?
He was 81. The cause was leukemia, said Richard Revesz, the dean of the New York University School of Law, who announced the death. Professor Dworkin had been a member of the school’s faculty for many years and also taught at University College, London.

Dworkin was not only an intellectual giant, but also a masterful teacher, admired colleague, and beloved friend. Dworkin was the most important legal philosopher of his generation, addressing the largest moral and political issues of the day through his lectures and scholarship.
