How many free response questions are on the AP Computer Science A exam?
The AP CSA exam is 3 hours long and has two sections—multiple choice and free-response.
You will be given one hour and 30 minutes for each part.
The first part has 40 multiple-choice questions, and the second part has 4 free response questions where you have to write Java code by hand.You can study independently to take the AP CSP Exam, but due to the nature of the course and the exam, we recommend, if possible, that you find another high school in your area or an online program that will enroll you in its AP CSP course.
Is AP CSP hard?
In 2021, the AP Computer Science Principles exam had an above-average pass rate of 66.5% and a below-average perfect score rate of 12.4%.
Most students find this AP test challenging but can pass comfortably.
Is AP CSP worth it?
Like other AP courses, taking AP CSP is an opportunity to earn college credit.
Taking AP CSP and earning 3 or higher on the exam shows that you have developed the knowledge and skills expected of a student that has completed an introductory computer science course in college.
