Healthy, Active, Independent Older Adults Veillir chez soi / Aging At
Are active adult communities right for You?
These communities are usually quieter and private, says Dr. Gibbs. In most cases, almost all residents in these communities are over the age of 55. Active adult communities are also ideal for people who want to live full, independent lives without the daily responsibility of maintaining a home, says Dr. Grod.
How much does an active adult community cost?
Entrance fees for active adult communities can range anywhere from $50,000 to $400,000, says Dr. Grod. Costs vary depending on what kind of active adult community you’re looking for, its location, the community’s desirability and demand, the housing unit size and the level of care needed, she adds.
What are the different types of active adult communities?
Below are several types of active adult communities to consider. Active adult communities may function as 55-plus communities, which are restricted to people who are 55 or over. Housing options in these communities include condominiums, townhouses, single-family homes and apartments.
