When should ketorolac be given?
For pain: Adults (patients 16 years of age and older)—One 10-milligram (mg) tablet four times a day, four to six hours apart.
Some people may be directed to take two tablets for the first dose only.
Children up to 16 years of age—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.Why would a patient take ketorolac?
Ketorolac is used to relieve moderately severe pain, usually pain that occurs after an operation or other painful procedure.
It belongs to the group of medicines called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).Who should not receive ketorolac?
It also should not be used during labor/delivery or in people with severe kidney problems or high risk for kidney problems.
Do not use ketorolac if you are taking high doses of aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

The recommended oral dosing in adults is a 20 mg single dose after IV or IM therapy, then 10 mg every 4 to 6 hours, not exceeding 40 mg in 24 hours.
