On 4 December 2023, the Home Secretary announced a significant increase to the current threshold, more than doubling it to £38,700.
If simply adjusted for inflation, the income requirement from 2012 would be £25,500 in January 2024 based on the Bank of England's inflator calculator.The UK government has announced a new 5-point immigration plan, with the aim of reducing net migration.
The headline changes include increasing the minimum salaries that skilled foreign national workers and family visa sponsors must earn, and significantly lowering the number of dependants permitted to come to the UK.
