Does Australia Post charge a cubic charge?
Australia Post reserves the right to apply cubic charges to all parcels, and this will be more likely in instances where a parcel is large in size or irregular or cylindrical in shape. Cubing is not applicable on eligible Australia Post packaging products. For more information auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/size-and-weight-guidelines.
Does Australia Post charge a flat rate for a 1kg parcel?
For parcels that are over 1kg, where you use your own packaging or any other packaging which is not eligible for the national flat rates for postage based on size, Australia Post will assess charges according to their actual weight or cubic weight equivalent, whichever is greater.
What are Parcel Post charges?
Parcel Post charges apply to any parcel that requires transportation from the lodgement point to the ofice of delivery. the sender delivers it to a mail contractor who, in the course of their duties, hands it in at the ofice from which it will be delivered.
Where can I find information about Australia Post charges?
Up-to-date information may be obtained from any Australia Post retail outlet. ▲ Australia Post will assess charges according to their actual weight or cubic weight equivalent, whichever is greater. The cubic weight is the parcel’s volume in cubic metres multiplied by 250.
