Why did BA cancel so many flights over the summer?

Why did BA scale back its operations?
BA was then forced to scale back its operations to control disruption during last year’s recovery, as the industry faced a staffing shortage. The airline reported an operating profit of €303mn last year — less than Iberia — compared with €1.9bn in 2019.
What is BA euroflyer?
BA Euroflyer operates in a similar manner to the company’s existing subsidiary, BA Cityflyer, flying under the British Airways brand and offering the same premium product that customers know and enjoy on British Airways mainline services.
Is BA a better place than last year?
The BA chief executive, Sean Doyle, said the airline was much more resilient than it was last year and had “navigated through to the end of July, I think at a much better place”.
