Comment s'appelle le nombre que l'on multiplie ?
.

Is y a natural logarithm?
The function y = loge x (a.k.a. y = ln x) is said to be the natural logarithm while the function y = log10 x is called the common logarithm. Since we can solve for x in the equation e = 10x, we could replace the e values in each of the above situations involving e with an equivalent form involving our more comfortable base 10.
How did logarithms work?
The logarithmic technique was developed to aid in the drudgery of simplifying long and tedious arithmetic expressions. Logarithms worked by reducing arithmetic expressions of one levelof difficulty to a lesser level of difficulty. Scientific calculators have made much of the pre-1970 precalculus curriculumobsolete.
What is the first law of logarithms?
The ?rst law of logarithms Now the logarithmic form of the statement xy=an+mislogaxy=n+m. But n= logaxand So, if we want to multiply two numbers together and ?nd the logarithm of the result, we can dothis by adding together the logarithms of the two numbers. This is the?rst law. 6. The second law of logarithms Supposex=an, or equivalentlylogax=n.
What information did Briggs develop in the table of logarithms?
See Appendix A, pg. 1 for a hint. Suffice to say that in the table of logarithms that Mr. Briggs developed was information comparable to the following: 101 10 (log10 10 = 1) By calculator 4,971.26 × 0.2459 = 1,222.432834 which compares very favorably with the answer obtained using Mr. Briggs’ logarithm technique.
