Was ist Car to go?
car2go (englisch car „Auto“ und to go „zum Mitnehmen“) war ein Carsharing-Anbieter des deutschen Automobilherstellers Daimler und wurde im internen Innovationsbereich Lab1886 entwickelt. Zuletzt wurde der Dienst in 25 städtischen Gebieten in neun Ländern angeboten und verfügte über rund 15.000 Fahrzeuge.
Was ist mit car2go passiert?
Im Februar 2019 wurden die vormals unabhängigen Carsharing-Anbieter DriveNow und car2go Teil des Joint-Ventures Share Now der Unternehmen BMW und Daimler.
Seit dem 14.
Januar 2020 werden die Dienste ausschließlich durch Share Now angeboten.Im Juli 2022 kündigte Free2move die Übernahme von SHARE NOW an.
Die Mission: Mobilität durch eine breite Produktpalette zu vereinfachen und das Konzept der Mobilitätsknotenpunkte auf 14 neue Städte auszuweiten. Zusammen erreichen SHARE NOW und Free2move mehr als 6 Millionen Kund:innen weltweit.
Wie funktioniert Car to go Berlin?
Mit einer zugehörigen App kann jeder verfügbare Carsharing-Wagen des Unternehmens gefunden und für 30 Minuten vor der Fahrt reserviert werden.
Dabei legt Car2Go den Fokus im gesamten Mietprozess auf das Smartphone: Das Suchen, Buchen, Öffnen und Schließen des Fahrzeugs wird per App erledigt.
