  • How do Aboriginal say hello?

    Some of the most well known Aboriginal words for hello are: Kaya, which means hello in the Noongar language.
    Palya is a Pintupi language word used as a greeting much in the same way that two friends would say hello in English while Yaama is a Gamilaraay language word for hello used in Northern NSW.5 jan. 2021

  • "Ngukurr": In some Aboriginal languages, this term is used as a greeting.
    For example, among the Ngalakgan people in the Northern Territory. "Ninti": Used by some Central Australian Aboriginal groups to say "hello." "Yow": A traditional greeting used by the Yindjibarndi people in Western Australia.

Why not say 'Hello' in an Aboriginal Language? Wominjeka means Hello/Welcome in the Woiwurrung language of the Wurundjeri people of Kulin Nation – the traditional owners of Melbourne. Yumalundi means Hello in the Ngunnawal language.
