What can you bid with 2 5 card majors?
(If you do have two 5 card majors, you should open 1♠.
As a general rule, whenever you have two 5 card suits, you bid the higher ranking one first.
This will allow you to safely bid the lower-ranking suit twice.Finally, when you have a balanced hand with 22 or more HCP, you should begin by opening 2 .
After your partner's response, you can bid 2NT to shows 22-24 HCP, or jump to 3NT to show 25-27.
With 15-17 HCP, open 1NT.
With 18-19 HCP, open in a suit and then jump to 2NT.
How to bid 5 card majors?
The basic premise of 5 card major bridge bidding is that the opening bidder makes an opening bid in a major suit if they hold 5 or more cards in the suit.
If the opening bidder doesn't hold a 5 card major suit, then they open with a minor suit bid.
What is the rule of 15 in bridge bidding?
Add your high card points and the number of spades in your hand.
If the total is 15 or more, then you should open the bidding. if the total is 14 or less, then you should pass the hand out.
