Le contrôle social permet de réguler les comportements des individus en les confrontant aux normes et valeurs en vigueur dans la société.
Le mécanisme du contrôle social repose sur des sanctions, positives ou négatives, et peut être exercé par différentes instances.Comment s'exerce le contrôle social ?
Le contrôle social informel s'exerce au cours des interactions sociales de la vie quotidienne et a un caractère non institutionnel.
Il est souvent prédominant dans les groupes primaires comme la famille ou les groupes de pairs.
Les comportements sociaux sont régulés à travers et par les interactions sociales.Quelles sont les formes du contrôle social ?
On peut distinguer plusieurs formes de contrôle social:
le contrôle formel, exercé par des organisations spécialisées : la police, la justice, la religion. le contrôle informel qui agit aux cours des interactions de la vie quotidienne au sein des groupes auxquels l'individu appartient : la famille, les amis, l'école,- Durkheim reconnaît le fait social à ce qu'il exerce une contrainte sur l'individu.
En effet, l'homme n'agit pas librement, mais son comportement dépend d'un contexte social qui le fait agir.
En effet, la société entraîne des coercitions, des contraintes plus ou moins explicites.
