Who is in need of Welsh language services?
As many Welsh-speaking children are only able to speak Welsh (particularly young children), this strategic framework identifies children and young people as a group who have greater need for Welsh language services. Where children or young people want or need their services provided to them in Welsh, they should be provided.
What is the Welsh language policy?
Our Welsh language policy sets out how we will implement these principles. The Welsh Language Commissioner Council has set us a range of range of standards that we must meet in order to provide quality Welsh language services. The Welsh language policy also explains how we intend to comply with these standards.
Does Anglesey speak Welsh?
With over half of the island's population able to speak Welsh, the language is alive in homes, in workplaces, and in our communities. Welsh has been used here for over two thousand years and continues to be used every day by people of all ages. This makes Anglesey one of the strongholds of the language.
