Discuss with students the elements of the fable (characters, setting, events, and moral).
What is a fable and examples?
A fable is a short story meant primarily for children whose main purpose is to advance a moral or a lesson.
Examples include ''The Tortoise and the Hare'' and ''The Country Mouse and the City Mouse. ''What does every fable have?
fable, narrative form, usually featuring animals that behave and speak as human beings, told in order to highlight human follies and weaknesses.
A moral—or lesson for behaviour—is woven into the story and often explicitly formulated at the end.- Answer and Explanation: Fables do not have to have animals, although many of them do.
When animals are included in fables they are often personified, which means that they have some of the characteristics of people.
Fables are short tales that are used to teach a life lesson.
