What is the new puppy syndrome?
Over the years I've observed that dogs often behave quite well when first brought into a new home, only to become unmanageable once they settle in.
I think of this as new dog syndrome.
Generally, dogs displaying this pattern have a fairly low stress threshold.How long does the puppy stage last?
Puppies typically develop the emotional maturity and temperament of an adult dog between twelve and eighteen months of age, although they may continue to occasionally exhibit puppy behavior like chewing and nipping until they're about two years old.
Most puppies can leave their mother when they're 8 weeks old—but waiting up to 10 weeks may be best for your puppy.
This separation timeline gives puppies enough time to wean off milk and begin eating solid food, plus learn basic dog behaviors from their mom and siblings.
What is a water puppy syndrome?
What is Anasarca? Puppies born with anasarca are commonly called walrus puppies, swimmer puppies, rubber puppies or water puppies.
This is because they are born with a deadly amount of fluid underneath their skin.
There is still not enough research done to truly understand why puppies are born with the condition.
