Little Black Ants (Monomorium minimum) are some of the smallest black ants in the country. Worker ants measure 1-2mm while queen ants measure 4 – 5mm. These ants live in multi-queen nests. They are highly common in Southern California as well as around the bay area around San Francisco. Food preferences aren’t very specific for the species.
